Recently, diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and France have become increasingly strained. This tension can be attributed in part to France’s traditionally strong support for Armenia, especially during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflicts, as well as the significant influence of the Armenian diaspora in France.
The situation has been further exacerbated by the 2022 attack on the Azerbaijani Embassy in Paris, reportedly carried out by radical nationalist groups, raising serious concerns about the security of Azerbaijani diplomatic missions. In addition, Azerbaijan has expressed support for the independence movement in New Caledonia — a French overseas territory — and, according to open-source reports, may have provided informational or financial backing to anti-colonial protests there, which was perceived in France as a direct geopolitical provocation.

Interestingly, just prior to his arrest in France, Pavel Durov was in Azerbaijan, where he visited not merely for a casual trip but took part in activities connected to the newly established Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center in Baku — an institution focused on training IT and cybersecurity specialists, reportedly supported by international partners including Israel. His visit was not publicly detailed, but it coincided with high-level discussions on cyber cooperation.

Taken together, these developments suggest that Durov’s arrest in Paris may not have been entirely unrelated to his recent activities in Azerbaijan. His engagement with Azerbaijan’s cybersecurity sector — particularly in a sensitive, internationally-linked initiative — could have drawn the ire of French authorities, already wary due to geopolitical tensions.
While the official charges against him relate to Telegram and alleged issues surrounding platform content regulation, the timing and broader context raise serious questions about the political motivations behind his prolonged detention.

Hey Tucker, just to inform your Audiance that France just recently raided a French author’s home who wrote about the 2008 financial scandals where government officials with the financial banking sector committed fraud and stole billions of euros. And then bailed the banks out by stealing retirement funds and public money. His name is Pierre Jovanovic. He is all over French independent media such as the channel of Idriss Aberkane who interviewed him. The French government tried to silence him by trying to lock him out in a psychiatrical institution.

Нейросеть перевела ужасно на русский язык. Народ я нашел более корректный перевод на русский. Его можно получить через яндекс браузер, через их встроенный переводчик видео с английского языка.

Парень, что у тебя с ударениями?

  13. @marcportoleau2502

Sorry no to be laudatory about the guy. I just checked the wiki page on Durov, both in english and in french… Interesting differences…. Nothing really political in the motivations on neither french nor english page… Just another "making up" of facts by a certain Tucker C. 🤔🙄🫤

  14. @enns5366

This is beyond frustrating that France is treating this amazing man like this.

  15. @AliseOsio

Вроде с переводом на русский язык переведено, но все равно не понятно половину. Построение предложений, речевые обороты тоже имеют значение. Нейросеть не всегда может заменить живого переводчика

Benefits of acquiring French citizenship!! Lucky guy

  25. @GoodlifeInvestor

It’s nice to see France allowed its citizen to travel to UAE. He is privileged. In North Korea it’s not so easy for its citizens to travel without valid reason.

  26. @akotochristopher9907

please, who can help with the name or type of microphone that's being used here. the sound is very clear

  27. @michaeldotsenko2164

Many people compare 'great russia' to terrible France. Let me remind you the average salary in russia is 800$ while its 3500$ in France XD. By the way, he lives in Dubai and never said russia is better but some russian bots like to promote that idea.

  28. @galactic_ape1929

"The service is free" just sign away all your personal data so we can get rich…

  29. @arsantalla

France is soon a communist country.. fuck socialism and oligarchy
